Apexx komt binnenkort met debuut EP ‘State of Hate’

Zoals sommigen wellicht wel weten was Apexx onderdeel van het duo Shellshock, dat aangesloten zit bij Fusion Records. Omdat ze beide het idee hadden dat hun muzikale toekomst niet meer gelijk liep aan elkaar, besloten ze om zich op te splitsen. Vaak hoor je van die andere 50% naderhand niet veel meer, maar hier is dat dus alles behalve waar.

Apexx, die ook bij Fusion Records zit, kwam namelijk meteen met een track die ontzettend goed werd ontvangen. ‘Obey’ kreeg, en krijgt, support van vele artiesten en al snel begonnen mensen te vragen naar een releasedatum. We besloten hem er wat over te vragen.

“Thanks to all the already amazing experiences I had during my time in Shellshock I learned a couple of things about how I want to present myself. The most important thing is always come in hard, and having 6 tracks as the first release on your name is, in my opinion, definitely coming in hard.

After having realised that, I started putting down ideas for tracks and discussed these with my label, Fusion Records. These ideas were all the aggressive hardstyle I have always really really enjoy playing and making, therefore the name “State of Hate” (as in a state of aggression) was born. I am so lucky to have such a supportive agency and label behind me that helped me out making these ideas and now putting them out in the open.”

‘State of Hate’, wat de naam is van zijn eerste EP, zal naast de track ‘Obey’, ook nog drie andere solo-tracks en twee collabs bevatten. De EP zal dus bestaan uit maar liefst zes tracks. De volgende track die op de planning staat is ‘Black Death’, welke ook al veel support krijgt uit de scene. Hij kon gelukkig al één van de collabs onthullen, deze zal namelijk met Caine gemaakt worden. Beide artiesten komen uit Schotland, dus trots als ze zijn willen ze hun land op deze manier graag vertegenwoordigen.

“I choose to include the Scottish flag within the artwork as Im a proud Scotsman, and I want to continue to be one of the main representatives of our scene in The Netherlands. In terms of the overall design, apparently I can look like a war criminal, and that’s always a good look for a Hardstyle release, haha!”
