Phuture Noize bewijst met zijn album opnieuw dat het beter kan: “From Star To Stardust”

Phuture Noize geeft wederom een enorm visitekaartje af met de release zijn zevende (!) album. Ondanks de vele veranderingen binnen de hardstyle weet de authentieke producer in From Star To Stardust opnieuw zijn weg te vinden: een muzikale aanrader voor iedere liefhebber.

Na een tumultueuze periode kreeg Phuture Noize afgelopen oktober te horen dat hij een eigen show in 013 Tilburg zou doen. “Ik moet toegeven dat ik vrij gestresst was of ik het zou halen”, vertelt de Black Mirror Society-oprichter. Hij had notabene nét zijn eigen X-Qlusive achter de rug, maar realiseerde zich dat hardstyle sinds de recente pandemie enorm is veranderd. Na moeilijke struggles in de studio kreeg hij mede door zijn nieuwe workflow eindelijk het vizier weer op scherp: “Ik moet niet twijfelen, maar juist met albums luisterervaringen creëeren.”

From Star To Stardust gaat volledig tegen de trend in waar kwantiteit belangrijker lijkt te zijn dan kwaliteit. Het is duidelijk lastig om voorgaande topalbums als Pursuit of Thunder, Black Mirror Society en Silver Bullet te evenaren, hoewel de creativiteit van Phuture Noize het zo vanzelfsprekend laat lijken. Het laat zien waarom een album véél meer kan zijn dan ‘gewoon’ een verzameling tracks en het zorgt ook nu weer voor vele lovende reacties. “Marco is back.”

“An album about criticizing and overturning the status quo – the stars – into a new beginning – the stardust. Just like how stardust is and always will be the building block for all what’s alive and dead.

The general emotion through the album is aggression, frustration, but foremost hope, like a new beginning. It’s a journey through the mind of the average human being stuck in current society, thinking about the current trend and wanting to do something about it. The journey of trying to find positivity and hope through the minefield of this digitized society. The conclusion of the album is whatever happens, there’s always hope.”

“We kunnen ons allemaal blindstaren op hoe de ‘hardstyle scene’ zou moeten klinken enzo. Maar als we avonden als deze kunnen hebben, maakt het dan wat uit.”

Aanstaande zaterdag zal Phuture Noize zijn nieuwe album draaien op de mainstage van de opening van het festivalseizoen: REBiRTH Festival. Gewapend met een elftal gloednieuwe tracks is hij deze zomer ook te vinden op onder andere Intents, Sunrise en verzorgd hij The Opening Ceremony op Defqon.1 – een muzikale show waarbij het album waarschijnlijk volledig tot zijn recht zal komen op het grootste podium binnen de hardere stijlen.

Phuture Noize – From Star To Stardust is vanaf nu online beschikbaar via de kanalen van Black Mirror Society. Bovendien komt er binnenkort nog een vinyl, CD en een nieuwe merch drop van het album.

De structuur van het album

“Starting out thinking about the trend, almost like going through the rabbit hole. The start of the odyssey into finding the purpose of current society, somewhat confused and therefore dynamic in sound. Followed by playing with aggression and heavy dancefloor music, then broken down into emotive and hopeful more sing along music to generate dynamic throughout the piece. Ending with the message of never losing hope, to create something new out of the stardust left after this societal supernova, that explodes the current stars of society. (A nice wink to cancel-culture).”
