Zojuist heeft Savage Squad Recordings aangekondigd dat per direct stopt. Wat ooit begon als een spontaan idee tijdens een dronken vakantie in Italië, groeide uit tot een movement binnen de hardstyle. “Met pijn in het hart en ongelofelijk veel trots, maken wij hierbij de sluiting van jullie favoriete label Savage Squad bekend.”

Na vele releases en een ongekende bijdrage aan de scene, kondigen The Purge (Manuel) en Jordy nu het einde van Savage Squad aan. Met bijna 200 releases en meerdere sublabels wist Savage Squad zich stevig op de kaart te zetten. Het label bood een thuis voor een nieuwe generatie artiesten, waarvan sommigen zijn uitgegroeid tot gevestigde namen binnen de internationale hardstyle. Denk aan The Purge, Adjuzt (inmiddels Gearbox), Omnya, Coldax, Sanctuary, Mind Dimension, Griever en vele anderen.
Hun muziek werd gedraaid op alle grote festivals: van Defqon.1 en Decibel Outdoor tot Intents Festival, en zelfs Savage-hostings of takeovers. De oprichters kijken met trots terug op een uniek hoofdstuk. In hun afscheidsbericht bedanken ze hun artiesten, die volgens hen de ziel en het fundament van het label hebben gevormd. “Met pijn maar ook met ongelooflijk veel trots sluiten we dit hoofdstuk,” aldus Manuel en Jordy. “Savage Squad zal altijd in ons voortleven.”

Het einde van Savage Squad markeert een emotioneel maar eervol slot van een label dat zijn stempel heeft gedrukt op een generatie hardstyle. Ook gaat er lof uit naar managers Steve en Martijn, de organisaties die Savage Squad een podium gaven, en natuurlijk de fans die jaar in jaar uit achter het label bleven staan.
The End of Savage Suad
What once started as a random brainstorm during a drunk holiday in Italy years ago ended up being a musical movement that was the cradle for several major artist careers. Ladies and gentlemen, with pain and an incredible amount of pride, we hereby announce the closing of ur fav label Savage Squad.
After almost 200 releases, several sublabels and countless sets from our artists at worldwide events and hostings/take-over at renowned Hardstyle events such as Defqon.1, Decibel Outdoor and Intents Festival, we decided that this Summer was the closing chapter of the Savage Era and we called it a day.
We would like to share a few words of appreciation: Thanks to our incredibly dedicated artists for sharing our vision on what Hardstyle should be. We wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavours. They laid the foundation of our success, and we will be forever grateful for that. Thanks to Steve and Martijn for being the best music managers a team could wish for. Without them, there wasn’t anything to listen to. Thanks to all the organisations and artist agencies that gave us the chance of playing at the most incredible events we could wish for. And last but not least: an incredibly big thanks to YOU for sticking around all these years for listening to our shitty music. Savage Squad will live in each one of us, expect our musical legacy still being played around the globe.
