D-Block & S-te-Fan and Phuture Noize are finally officially joining forces. After being played at festivals for months, their long-awaited collaboration ‘Arcadia’ is out today via Scantraxx. However, plans for a track together had already been around for much longer: according to Phuture Noize, the three first discussed the idea around REBiRTH 2022.

The first sounds of ‘Arcadia’ were heard earlier this year at REBiRTH Festival. D-Block & S-te-Fan and Phuture Noize joined forces behind the decks for an exclusive 90-minute Evolution Special, where they premiered their collaboration. The fact that the track made its debut there was no coincidence.
“Phuture Noize had been on our list for a while to work together on a song because it just felt like a great match,” D-Block & S-te-Fan explain. After seeing his set at REBiRTH the year before, they finally decided to get into the studio together. “It only felt right to premiere the track during our b2b at REBiRTH. The crowd there really feels like it’s both our crowds.”
Phuture Noize also explains that the collaboration had been in the works for much longer. The first conversations even date back to around REBiRTH 2022. Not long after, he remixed D-Block & S-te-Fan’s ‘Promised Land’. “We both really liked each other’s music, so we thought something cool could come out of a collab.”
From a melody on a phone to ‘Arcadia’
The first idea for ‘Arcadia’ came from Phuture Noize. During their first studio session, he brought along several ideas and melodies he had saved on his phone. One of them immediately stood out and eventually developed into the melody at the heart of the track.
From there, the story of Arcadia took shape: a reference to the idyllic place from Greek mythology. In the track, Arcadia represents a place where everyday worries disappear and hope, wonder and happiness take over. The lyrics offer a guiding hand to anyone who feels lost.
“We agreed that the theme of Arcadia, referencing Greek utopian mythology, was really interesting for us both,” Phuture Noize explains. “It linked well with the festival vibes we were trying to create.”
“We didn’t have to force our styles together”
In the studio, the combination quickly proved to be a natural fit. According to D-Block & S-te-Fan, their sounds are close enough that they never had to actively search for a compromise. “Since our sounds are not so far away from each other, we could just focus on making something that we all like rather than trying to blend each other’s styles.”
They particularly experimented with the arrangement of ‘Arcadia’. The producers wanted to start melodically, while also breaking the track down along the way. “We managed to do that in a creative way and we are happy with Arcadia!” Phuture Noize also looks back positively on the process. “It was a super fun experience and the flow was really easygoing and natural. We had a great time and a couple of sessions were enough to finish the track because we had a really good understanding in the studio.”
‘Arcadia’ quickly became a fan favorite
From its premiere at REBiRTH, ‘Arcadia’ immediately received a lot of positive reactions. “People loved it from the first time and, to be honest, we have to agree with them,” D-Block & S-te-Fan say. Phuture Noize saw the same response after the first footage appeared online: “The response was amazing. It instantly got a lot of views and comments asking about the release date.”
After REBiRTH, the collaboration returned at many different festivals, including Defqon.1. As of today, fans no longer have to wait for another festival moment: ‘Arcadia’ by D-Block & S-te-Fan and Phuture Noize is now out via Scantraxx on your favorite streaming platform.
