D-Block & S-te-Fan recall the beginning of their partnership, which started with a coincidental encounter in a record store. Now, Diederik and Stefan are indispensable figures in the hardstyle scene. They built their name through energetic live sets, successful albums, and of course, Ghost Stories. This November, they will celebrate their anniversary with a special event that brings together their entire musical legacy.

“From history to infinity”

What can fans expect? Diederik explains: “Yeah, the title says it all really: ‘From history to infinity’. This is an event where our entire repertoire will be played. We barely do any classics sets — maybe one a year. And even then, we’re tied to specific hits people want to hear. But we’ve made so much music that never gets played anymore. This will be the event where we finally get to play everything we’ve made over the past twenty years.”

Stefan adds: “At a classics event we usually get 60 minutes, sometimes 75. And we don’t do those often. If we do, we want it to feel really special. This time, we’re dividing everything into time blocks connected to our albums. In those 90- or 75-minute segments, we’ll play the tracks from each era.”

Not just looking back

Although the event honors their history, the duo emphasizes it’s not just about the past. “It’s also about looking forward — ‘to infinity’. We’re not done. We’re still making lots of new music. This event is for the fans who’ve followed us over the past twenty years, and for those who are curious about what we’ve done. It’s not just a classics event — it’s also the last seven years and the future. Everything we’ve created.”, says Stefan.

Diederik believes the event will appeal to both seasoned hardstyle fans and the younger festival crowd: “You’ll hear the classics, but also the sound we stand for now. That’s interesting for people who go to festivals today and wonder, ‘Where did all this come from?’”

Special guests

The event will primarily revolve around D-Block & S-te-Fan themselves, but guest performances are expected from artists who played a role in their journey. “You can expect people who’ve been meaningful to our career to be there. We’ll be playing a lot ourselves — I think this will be the longest set we’ve done in years,” says Diederik.
Stefan confirms: “Definitely in terms of stage time — it’s really centered around 20 Years of D-Block & S-te-Fan.”

He continues: “That makes total sense — people are coming for our music, so they’d almost be disappointed if we had someone else up there. But we’ll definitely invite some friends and great colleagues to create special moments.”

Diederik closes with a tip: “If you rewatch our REBiRTH set, that’s already a preview of what we’re planning — just much more extensive.”

20 Years of D-Block & S-te-Fan
