During The Kick-Off of Defqon.1, it was announced that D-Sturb will be responsible for the anthem for the 2026 edition. Next year’s theme is “Sacred Oath,” a title that sets the tone for four days on the Holy Grounds.

The anthem is the musical calling card of every year’s edition. For artists, the task to create the Defqon.1 anthem is considered one of the greatest honors in the hardstyle scene. Previous artists like Headhunterz, Noisecontrollers, Sub Zero Project, and last year’s Vertile have held this role. In 2026, it’s D-Sturb’s turn to translate the atmosphere and energy of “Sacred Oath” into a track that will become the defining moment of many visitors’ Defqon.1 experience.

D-Sturb: “I can’t wait to work on the Defqon.1 2026 anthem”
Since last Defqon.1, D-Sturb has known he’d be creating the anthem, he explains during The Kick-Off. “During a tour around the grounds, we were standing in front of the RED stage that still needed to be finished,” D-Sturb explains. Then he was asked if he’d take on ‘Sacred Oath’. “I immediately realized this is something very special, and I consider it a huge honor.”
Defqon.1 is the largest multi-day hardstyle event in the world. From June 25th to 28th, the grounds in Biddinghuizen will once again become the Holy Grounds of the harder styles for four days, complete with campsites, various areas, and the iconic RED stage, which is considered the epicenter of the scene. Additionally, the Kick-Off just announced that (in addition to the “Sacred Oath” theme), the Spotlight will move from the BLACK to The Gathering on Thursday, a new RED Race season will begin with coaches Adaro, Frontliner, Phuture Noize, and The Purge, and last year’s five-hour Closing Ceremony will be released online.

Defqon.1 – Sacred Oath takes place from Thursday the 25th of June to Sunday the 28th of June 2026 in Biddinghuizen. Tickets go on sale this fall with the DEDIQATED Sale on October 21st, followed by the Travel Sale on October 23rd and the General Sale on October 25th.
