Deetox makes a big comeback on I AM HARDSTYLE

Deetox returns after a few years of break from producing with a brand new release. The Queen of RAW has been brooding on a new sound for the past few months and is now ready to conquer the hearts of hardstyle fans again with ‘Everybody’. “The break has been very good for me to put things into perspective and look at things differently.”

Diana, better known to the general public as Deetox, made an impact on the biggest stages in hardstyle: from Defqon.1 to Qlimax and many other events. A few years ago she took a break: with everything going on, her life was becoming difficult. “At a certain point, stress and pressure increasingly took over my career,” Deetox now explains. As a huge perfectionist, she was never really completely satisfied.

“I just kept going, even though I should have taken a step back much sooner”

“I started putting more and more pressure on myself, which was completely at the expense of my enjoyment and passion,” Deetox continues. In addition, a number of things happened on a personal level that really took their toll. “I just kept going, even though I should have taken a step back much sooner. At some point, I realized this and then I consciously took some distance.”

Over time, things started to get better for Diana – also in the area of music. “By letting things go, I also noticed that I missed certain things and I discovered that the passion was still there. I then started again very slowly, without putting pressure on myself, in order to get the enjoyment back. The break was very good for me to put things into perspective and look at things differently. I have the enjoyment back and am really looking forward to this new start.”

Deetox is ready to show what she is capable of

Deetox is now fully geared and back in the game with her first release on I AM HARDSTYLE. “I first started quietly making new music”, Deetox looks back. When she had a few tracks and drafts after a while, she came into contact with Brennan Heart and the team of I AM HARDSTYLE. “They immediately responded enthusiastically after sharing my new music. I felt a click and noticed a genuine interest from their side.”

She was then invited to discuss her further plans. “It was a nice conversation, in which I was also able to share my personal story. Our vision matches and their enthusiasm was infectious, which made it feel like the perfect place for this fresh start”, she proudly says about this new chapter in her career.

“This is proof that we have such a great hardstyle scene”

This new beginning of Deetox is heralded by her upcoming release called ‘Everybody’: including a brand new Deetox sound. What does her (new) music stand for? “I’ve been experimenting a lot lately. I really took the time to rediscover what gives me energy and what the essence of hardstyle is for me. So really what I like to make myself and not so much because something is hot at the moment.”

The Queen of RAW reaches back to the period of the characteristic raw hardstyle in her new records. “I also thought back a lot to the time when I discovered hardstyle and fell in love with this genre. ‘Everybody’ has become a track with old-school influences, such as gated kicks combined with a big portion of drive – something I really like.” In her other tracks she also lets some older elements return here and there. “Also, I am currently bursting with inspiration and I will continue to experiment and make what I feel like at that moment. I love variation and that will also be heard in my music.”

The first reactions to her return are exciting and Deetox is looking forward to the future. “I am overwhelmed by all the positive reactions about my return! It is great to receive so much support from the hardstyle fans. This proves even more what a great scene we have.”

‘Everybody’ equals her new era at I AM HARDSTYLE: “Happy to be part of the family”

In addition to all her new music, there is also good news for all fans of her older records: Deetox will continue to be performing on the classics stages. “Absolutely! Playing classics sets has played a big part in rediscovering my passion and joy. I really enjoy playing older tracks and can really get into it, so I definitely want to continue doing that. I’m even working on something special at the moment, related to classics. More about that later…”
