Elektrum emerged in 2022 from a collaboration between the organizations of Intents Festival and WiSH Outdoor. The event, which took place in the autumn, was positioned as the closing event of the festival season.

“A choice that hurts”

According to the organization, it was not an easy decision. “A choice that hurts, but the reality is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to organize a festival like Elektrum at the level you have come to expect from us,” the organization shared.

Costs weigh heavily on the organization

Rising costs are putting the organization under considerable pressure. “The challenge is that costs continue to rise, while we consider it important to keep tickets affordable. At the same time, we notice that tickets are being purchased later and later, making the financial risks for us as an organization too great to continue the event annually with the quality you have come to expect from us.” The organization shared the news via Instagram.

Despite everything, pride prevails

Although the organization is disappointed, pride in what Elektrum Festival has built also prevails. “Proud of what we have built together. Of everyone who was there from the beginning. Of all the moments and memories we have shared together. Thank you for that!”, the organization states. “We do not yet know what the future holds. But one thing we know for sure: without you, there is no Elektrum! 💜”

Reactions are pouring in under the post. Fans and artists are reacting with disappointment to the news, but are also expressing their appreciation for the past years. Many of them look back with pride on the four editions of the festival.
