While thousands of ravers gather each year on the holy grounds of Defqon.1, this year one visitor truly stole the show: Evelyn’s 90-year-old grandmother. What started as a family outing turned into a unique festival experience they won’t soon forget.

Evelyn shared a video on Instagram showing herself, her parents, and her grandmother experiencing all the highlights of the weekend. “From Power Hour all the way to the endshow, she was there with me and my parents,” Evelyn wrote. Her grandmother didn’t shy away from anything and proudly stood among thousands of Defqon.1 Warriors. It’s proof that age is no limitation when it comes to a love for music and celebrating life.
A suprise from the skies
What Evelyn didn’t know was that a remarkable surprise had been arranged. She and her family got to board a helicopter for a flight over the holy grounds. “We got to fly in a helicopte over the holy grounds! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
A view like that, fireworks, light shows, and thousands of dancing people, is already impressive for a seasoned festivalgoer. Let alone for someone who’s 90 and attending such a massive event for the first time. She truly had the time of her life, Evelyn said. “She says that she’s still reliving the experience and called it one of the most unforgettable moments of her life.”
“You’re never to old to becoma a true Defqon.1 Warrior”
“This just proves: you’re never too old to become a true Defqon.1 Warrior,” Evelyn added. The responses poured in, full of admiration, emotion, and inspiration. This moment shows that age is not a barrier, just a number. Who knows, maybe your grandparent will be enjoying the endshow by the water next year.
