In the latest episode of PLAFONDDIENST, the men behind Faceless join the conversation. While the public mostly knows Faceless as a duo on stage, there’s a third essential member behind the scenes: Didier. Together with Dylan and Less, he completes the act – not as a performer, but as the producer and creative engine. In the episode, they openly discuss their division of roles, transparency about ghost production, what the rest of the year holds for them, and of course spekkoek.

“I was like, what am I doing? I just didn’t feel happy with my own act,” says Didier, reflecting on his past as a solo uptempo artist. Performing no longer brought him joy, but working behind the scenes sparked new energy. “I loved producing for the guys, and I didn’t have to worry about social media or performing.” He now focuses entirely on the music production for Faceless.
This clear division of roles is a conscious choice, Dylan explains: “Didier handles the music, but Less and I try to be as involved as possible to add our own input. We take care of the performances, I handle social media, and Less is good with bookkeeping and editing thumbnails. I’m the one updating the USBs. That’s how we really complement each other.” Less also emphasizes the importance of their collaboration: “It’s a three-man partnership. We can’t do this without Didier, Didier can’t do it without us, and we can’t do it without Dylan either. I completely agree with the guys.”

“There’s so much more to being an artist these days”
Transparency plays a big role in their story. While ghost production used to be taboo, the guys now choose openness. “There’s so much more involved in being an artist nowadays,” says Didier. “Social media alone is nearly a full-time job, and on top of that, you have to produce, perform, attend meetings… Big respect to those who do it all by themselves.”
For Faceless, it all comes down to working smart. “If there’s three of you and everyone does what they’re good at, you can combine your strengths and grow together,” Didier explains. And their teamwork goes far beyond dividing tasks. “I create the music and lay the groundwork, but the guys bring in a ton of inspiration. They know what’s happening in the scene. I’m not much of a partygoer anymore, and I mostly listen to classics,” he laughs.
