After years of intensive, and sometimes downright absurd, lobbying, #GPF4MAIN has finally become a reality. In the recently released Defqon.1 – The Release, it was announced that GPF will be performing on the RED this year, the festival’s most iconic stage.

Although the announcement may come as a surprise to many, loyal fans have seen it coming for years. GPF is known for their extreme uptempo sound, also known as piep kicks, chaotic live shows, pink fanbase, and explicit humor.

#GPF4MAIN

The road to the RED has been in the making for years. In 2024, GPF climbed onto the UV with a unique live show: “http://www.gpfpreswediditthisisthemainstage.gov/thepiepshowlive2024”. Although they were convinced of it themselves, they still did not perform on the main stage that year or during the most recent edition.

What started as a joke from the artists themselves quickly grew into a full-fledged campaign. Fans of GPF have dedicated themselves to one mission for years: #GPF4MAIN. But their controversial sound attracted a lot of opposition. Nevertheless, through persistent campaigns, playful actions, and a growing fanbase, they managed to get ever closer to their goal.

A piep takeover

When The Release arrives at the Sunday line-up, the studio suddenly plunges into darkness. When the lights come back on, GPF is standing there in a completely pink suit, wearing the iconic fleshy mask. The message that follows doesn’t beat around the bush: “Warriors of Defqon.1, your call has gone unanswered. Q-dance has ignored us, so we have decided to take matters into our own hands. On sunday we will take over the red, and turn it pink.

GPF calls upon its large following to join them in battle: But we can not do this alone, we need you. We need everyone to wear their most pink outfits. Glasses, hats, pink socks, shirts, we need to turn it pink. And wen the RED sea turns PINK, they will know, we mean penis… I mean business.

GPF transforms Defqon.1 RED into PINK

For GPF, the debut on the RED is a reward for years of hard work. What exactly the performance will bring remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the RED has never experienced anything like this before.

Defqon.1 takes place on June 25, 26, 27, and 28, 2026, in Biddinghuizen. Sunday tickets have been sold out since ticket sales started, but a limited number of extra Sunday Tickets will go on sale on March 28 at 13:00. Friday and Premium Weekend Tickets are nearly sold out, and regular Weekend Tickets are also selling fast.

The popularity of Defqon.1 is once again evident from the speed at which tickets are selling out. Anyone who wants to be there needs to act fast. For tickets and more information about Defqon.1, visit the Q-dance website.
