Following the incidents at Matrixx At The Park earlier this week, the final night of the Vierdaagsefeesten is set to end on a positive note. Matrixx is joining forces with Classified, Gearbox and Overdrive for a free harder styles event at Nijmegen’s Hunnerpark.

The decision follows additional safety measures introduced by mayor Hubert Bruls after several violent incidents, including during a performance by Lil Kleine at the festival. Matrixx subsequently announced that it intends to approach its future programming differently and is now immediately putting those plans into action with a completely new line-up.
Classified closes the Vierdaagsefeesten with a focus on music and respect on the dance floor
Following the success of the Classified hosting last Sunday, the organisation wants to show what both the harder styles scene and the Vierdaagsefeesten represent: coming together, respecting one another and sharing a passion for music. That is exactly what Matrixx has been doing in the Nijmegen park for the past 20 years during the world’s largest multi-day walking event – something that comes almost naturally within hardstyle.
“Tonight, we are doing what we live for: bringing people together and creating unique moments,” Classified and Matrixx told Hard News. Classified also sees the event as an opportunity to demonstrate that the harder styles community can come together without any problems.

Hardstyle as a unifying force
An alternative programme was put together from scratch at 1:00 AM. “When Jurgen called me, I did not have to think twice,” says Floris van de Peppel of Gearbox Digital. “We were immediately on board. These are the projects you do it for. This one is for the fans.”
The teams continued working deep into the night, coordinating with the various booking agencies. “I dropped everything and got to work immediately,” adds Dylan Bastiaansen of Pure Bookings. Victor Wiedeman of The Wishlist Agency also confirms the spontaneous change of direction: “I was already asleep when you called and woke me up, but let’s immediately turn this into something special!”
Classified is therefore returning to Matrixx At The Park, this time alongside Gearbox and Overdrive. Although the event is free to attend and open to all ages, the organisation mainly hopes to send a positive message. “Let’s show our true spirit!”
The final night of Matrixx At The Park takes place tonight (Friday the 24 of July) from 19:00 until 1:00 and promises to be “the hardest closing party in the history of the Vierdaagsefeesten”, according to the organisation.
