German hardstyle producer Imperatorz has announced that after eight years he is hanging up his headphones. In an emotional video, he shared that he is ready for a new phase in his life. “I don’t know how to sugarcoat this, but the Imperatorz project is coming to an end. I’ve been thinking about this for quite a while and it has nothing to do with the scene or the sound. I’ve navigated myself musically in a direction where I don’t really feel comfortable anymore. That’s why I decided to stop.”

Kevin explained the reason for this farewell: “With everything that has happened in my life over the past year, I need to re-evaluate who I am as a person and what I want with my music. I can’t put the same passion and energy into the project as when I started, and that’s why I’ve decided to stop.”

“If you had told me ten years ago that I’d be playing a packed BLUE, I wouldn’t have believed you”

Over the past years, Kevin has built an impressive career in the hardstyle scene. He collaborated with artists who once inspired him to start making music himself, performed on iconic stages such as the BLUE stage and Decibel Outdoor, and managed to tick off almost every goal on his bucket list. “If you had told me ten years ago that I’d be playing a packed BLUE stage or performing at Decibel, I wouldn’t have believed you. I’ve been able to play shows I always dreamed of, and I’m incredibly proud of that.”

Fans played a crucial role in that success. “You are the main reason I’ve been able to do all of this. I see people walking around with Imperatorz tattoos, which to me is the craziest thing ever. I’ll never get used to the fact that my music means so much to people. I’m just a kid from a small village with more cows than people, but through music I’ve been able to see the world and create memories I’ll cherish forever.”

“Let’s go completely crazy together one last time”

Before he officially says goodbye, several special moments are still to come. “There’s still a hosting I can announce soon, an anthem I’m working on, and this year I’ll be playing on the Decibel mainstage, my favorite festival. I’ll also be traveling to Australia for Knockout Outdoor, and there’s more music coming out. I’ll still be here until the end of November and want to take the time to catch up with you all at every event.”

Big K ended his message with gratitude: “I’ve had the best time over the past eight years. I’ve experienced the craziest things and met my best friends through this journey. Let’s go completely crazy together one last time. Thank you for making my dreams come true, I love you all.”
