It is with great sadness that the news came out that MC Raise passed away this week. The talented 32-year-old vocalist, known from Intents Festival, REBiRTH and Forbidden Island, was a beloved face within the harder styles.

Pieter van Bogaert, also known as MC Raise, is a BKJN Future artist who has made a big impression in recent years. Within RAW and uptempo hardcore, he could be found with his microphone at increasingly bigger parties, he was the voice of the anthems for Annihilation, Gearbox Overdrive and The Infusion by Noxiouz and he became part of the Fallen Angel live act with Abaddon.

Fans and fellow artists of MC Raise reacted with shock and sadness to the unexpected death. The expressions of support are already pouring in via social media: the official statement has just been released via Instagram. “We’ll forever hold you in our hears as Fallen Angel.”

Update 11:53: Elektrum Festival will bring an ode to Pieter’s passing in a musical way, together with his colleagues, family and fans. “We will honor him together with you this Saturday and commemorate him in the way he lived his life, full of passion and surrounded by music.” The Ode to MC Raise will take place from 19:00 to 19:15 at the uptempo stage.

MC Raise suddenly passed away

MC Raise, rest in peace. We wish all loved ones and everyone who was affected by this sad event much strength with this loss. “When the gates are open, I just wanna fly. From the day that I started till the die that I die.”
