Just like the previous editions, where the show sold out with more than 5,000 visitors, huge crowds are expected again this year. “Last year we had around 5,400 people inside. That’s quite a lot, so I don’t know how many people show up to your birthday party,” Patrick jokes. Where at events like Reverze the second ring of the Lotto Arena often remains closed, for his birthday it had to be opened: “They said they had to open the second ring, otherwise they couldn’t fit everyone in. That’s insane to hear.”

A fan gathering in yellow

The strength of the event, according to Pat B, lies in the community behind it. “My fans come from all corners of the Benelux, but also from Northern France and especially a lot of French-speaking Belgians. Dutch, Flemish – everyone comes together. And everyone shows up in yellow. We always do a dress code, preferably yellow, and many people stick to it. I really love seeing people outside the Lotto walking around in Pat B merch. It almost feels like a family, with everyone ready for a fun Pat B night.”

A premiere on the line-up

The event is organized together with Bass Events, with Pat B mainly focusing on the creative side. “I’m closely involved in the promotion and I love using social media for it. But how it looks production-wise, I only see on the day itself. I’m not involved in that at all. I do work on the line-up though. They often say: it’s your party, just name it. Then they set a budget and I get to fill it in.”

This year Pat B has another surprise in store: Paul Elstak will be part of his birthday party. “That’s really cool. At Bass Events we brainstorm and of course I throw in names. Last year Mish was at the top of my wishlist, and I got her. This year I wanted Paul Elstak, and we made it happen. The rest of the line-up will be announced at the end of September.”
