VWAB has launched Project One – The Documentary: a never-before-seen look into the birth, rise, and legacy of Headhunterz & Wildstylez as Project One. The film – of which some footage was already shown last weekend – reflects the act’s greatness on the YouTube channel of Vroeger Was Alles Beter.

The Project One documentary takes you back to 2008: the year of “three months, two producers, one project.” Archive footage, studio anecdotes, and testimonials from DJ The Prophet (Scantraxx), Noisecontrollers, Bioweapon (Audiofreq and Code Black), Villain, and many more colleagues and fans outline how two different worlds collide. “When two different worlds collide, a better one is created.”

How a timeless sound was born that would become the blueprint for euphoric hardstyle. Creators and contemporaries emphasize the impact: “The next track was even better than the last.” Besides the music, the film focuses on the worldview and aesthetic behind Project One: from the ‘Gotham’-esque artwork with a superhero vibe to the deliberate mystery on stage.
Marketing pioneering is discussed, as is the scarcity strategy that made every appearance feel mythical, with Qlimax 2016 as an iconic moment. The documentary’s release coincides with the official announcement of VWAB presents Project One on the 3rd of January 2026 at the Brabanthallen (‘s-Hertogenbosch): a globally exclusive, one-off event that revives the legacy.
