“It’s amazing to see how much the uptempo scene has grown over the past few years, and how much more appreciation there is for it,” says Rosbeek. “People are starting to really love it and even play it themselves. There are so many new artists popping up – people making sets at home and dropping them on SoundCloud.”

The rise of the uptempo scene is impossible to ignore. Not just online, but on the big stages too, the impact is undeniable. “I think uptempo will just keep growing,” he says. “I recently saw that the uptempo stage at Supersized Kingsday had to be expanded again – that shows it’s far from finished.”

Rosbeek is right in the middle of that growth. As an artist, he feels the energy, the hunger from the crowd, and the momentum that uptempo brings. “As an artist, it’s just so dope to see your scene growing like this, with more and more parties popping up.”
