These are the most popular artists on Spotify
The end of 2015 is near and Spotify launched its new function ‘Year in Music’, which provides you with a neat summary of all the music that you listened to in the past year. On Spotify.com/2015 you can see how much music you have listened to and who were your favorite artists. Spotify will also create a special ‘Play It Forward’ playlist based on your preferences to let you discover new music.
We were curious how the hardstyle artists performed on Spotify in the past year, so we decided to dive into the Year in Music to create a list of artists with the most listeners in 2015. To prevent the list of becoming too long we only chose the artists who had over 50.000 unique listeners that streamed their tracks.

Unfortunately Spotify limits the details about your amount of listeners once an artist exceeds the one million barrier, but you can however see the total amount of streams translated in years. Coone had 54 years worth of streams, Wildstylez 82, Noisecontrollers 89 and Brennan Heart had a staggering 100 years worth of streams in the past year. This makes it pretty obvious that Brennan Heart is the #1 of 2015.
It’s incredible if you imagine that Brennan Heart alone has had 100 years worth of streams in the past year on Spotify. 100 years equals 36.524 days, 876.581 hours and an unbelievable 52.594.875 minutes! It seems like hardstyle is more alive than ever! No wonder that Spotify advertising becomes more popular for Hardstyle artists and events each year. Let’s hope it will be even more next year.
