Tomorrowland will take place tomorrow, despite the massive fire that destroyed the festival’s mainstage on Wednesday. That was confirmed by spokesperson Debby Wilmsen during a press conference in Boom on Thursday evening, exactly 24 hours after the incident.

“We’re moving forward, we’re going 100 percent ahead,” said Wilmsen. “We’re still very shaken, but we’ve received an incredible amount of support.”
2 scenarios
The organization scaled up production this morning and is currently working on two possible scenarios:
Scenario 1:
Tomorrowland will open on Friday “at full force and for everyone”, including a scaled-down alternative on the site of the burned-down mainstage. In this case, the festival grounds would open at 2:00 PM instead of 12:00 PM.
“There’s still a lot of work to do for plan A,” said the organization. Whether this scenario is feasible depends on the safety and speed of the rebuild. More clarity is expected later this evening.
Scenario 2:
If the alternative stage isn’t ready in time, Tomorrowland will have a reduced program on Friday. A separate party will take place on the Dreamville campsite for the 38,000 campers. All other stages at De Schorre will still be open to regular festivalgoers who are not staying on the campsite. From Saturday, the full festival, including the new mainstage, is set to resume.
“We’re in full preparation,” Wilmsen added. “And if the mainstage isn’t ready tomorrow, we’ll open the other stages and make sure the party goes on.”
Rebuilding the original mainstage, which took two years to construct, is out of the question. Still, the organization emphasizes that the festival will go ahead no matter what, with safety as the top priority.
What does this mean for acts like Sub Zero Project?
For acts such as Sub Zero Project, who were scheduled to perform on the original mainstage Friday, the situation remains unclear. Under scenario 1, there may still be room for them on the alternative mainstage, potentially at a different time or in a different format. Under scenario 2, their show will likely not take place as planned, unless it is moved to a different stage or day.
