For years, Toneshifterz has been known for his euphoric melodies and high-energy hardstyle anthems—tracks that bring together soaring vocals and powerful drops. But as dance music continues to evolve, so does his sound. Now, he’s taking things in a bold new direction, blending the best elements of hardstyle and hard techno into a fresh, high-intensity style built for today’s dancefloors.

A shift in sound
This new approach is all about driving energy. While traditional hardstyle often leans on extreme kicks, melodic leads, and festival singalongs, Toneshifterz’s latest productions focus on relentless, driving rhythms designed to keep the crowd moving. His goal? To create music that isn’t just a collection of tracks but a toolkit for DJs—records that inspire creative mixing, seamless transitions, and a steady build of intensity throughout a set.
“Hardstyle has always been about creating big moments, but I wanted to take things a step further,” he explains. “I’m focusing on making music that’s more intertwined with DJ culture—where the mixing and flow are just as crucial as the drops. I want to bring that hypnotic, rolling energy from hard techno and fuse it with the power of hardstyle in a way that makes perfect sense on the dancefloor.”
‘Body Move’ – The Defining Track of a New Direction
Leading this movement is ‘Body Move‘, a collaboration with up-and-coming Australian duo Twin Tigerz, which dropped on February 13th. This track is setting the tone for Toneshifterz’s evolving sound—seamlessly merging hardstyle and hard techno influences into one powerful hybrid.
Since its release, Body Move has been making serious waves. Hard techno, hardstyle, and EDM artists alike have been throwing their support behind it, with DJs across multiple scenes working it into their sets. The track brings the best of both worlds—it’s tough without being too extreme, driving without feeling repetitive, and melodic in a way that stands out. With its crossover appeal, Body Move is proving that this fusion of styles resonates on dancefloors worldwide.
Pioneering a New Hybrid Sound While Honoring Hardstyle Roots
Toneshifterz’s new approach is already gaining traction. With tracks like Body Move setting the pace and the upcoming release of ‘Let’s Go Party’ on April 10th, he’s continuing to push boundaries and define what could become a genre in its own right.
But he’s also mindful of the strong opinions within the hard dance community. “I know some people see a divide between hardstyle and hard techno, but my goal isn’t to replace one with the other. I want to bridge that gap and bring something fresh that makes sense on the dancefloor.”
Revisiting Hardstyle’s Essence
At the heart of this evolution is a return to the core elements that made hardstyle special in the first place. While today’s scene often prioritizes heavier kicks and more extreme sound design, Toneshifterz believes in a different approach—one that balances power with danceability.
“With this new sound, I’m actually going back to my roots,” he says. “I’m bringing back techniques and elements I used in the early days—things that made hardstyle feel nostalgic and powerful without needing to be excessive. The genre has evolved to be about pushing harder and faster, but I believe music doesn’t have to be extreme to be impactful. It can still be groove-driven, energetic, and true to the essence of hardstyle.”
The Road Ahead
With an increasing number of releases embracing this new energy, Toneshifterz is leading the charge in reshaping the hard dance scene. From underground clubs to festival mainstages, the focus is all about movement, drive, and infectious dancefloor energy.
