While WOLV is a solo project, the musical style remains familiar to those who know Pepijn from Frequencerz. “Sound-wise, it won’t be all that different from Frequencerz,” he shares. “I make the music I like, that was already the case back then, and it still is. The only difference now is that I’m doing it alone. Everything I create and come up with is fully mine. There’s no one telling me to do it differently.”

Still, WOLV won’t be a copy of his past work. “It’s not a one-to-one repeat,” he emphasizes. “It’s something new, something that comes from me. But it still has that same energy, that same thematic and cinematic vibe. Those are truly the core elements of WOLV.”

“The sound is shifting again, and I love it”

Working solo in the studio suits him. The creative freedom and recent shifts in the genre are giving him a fresh boost. “The sound is shifting again, and I love it,” Pepijn says, referring to the resurgence of OG Raw. “With Frequencerz, we were often labeled as raw, and now that sound is making a comeback. I used to be a huge fan of that back in the day. That it’s coming back to life now? I’m all in.”
