Defqon.1 has deliberately chosen not to simply copy the line-up that largely never got its chance to shine last summer. During The Kick-Off, Q-dance explained that the foundations laid for 2026 will remain, but will be taken deeper and expanded for 2027. There will be more room for melody, the pioneers of the harder styles, new sounds and unexpected crossovers. According to the organization, this will result in its most ambitious line-up yet.

Following the early cancellation of Defqon.1 2026, one obvious question remained: what would happen to the planned line-up? According to Q-dance, several artists and ideas rightfully deserve another chance, but simply moving the exact same line-up to 2027 was never an option.
“In 2026, we deliberately chose a direction, showed our colours and took our stand. In 2027, we continue forward because some moments, ideas and artists rightfully deserve their moment,” the organization explains. “The plan is not to copy what has been done last year. Instead, it’s to dive deeper, to expand.”
The first names to be part of that renewed line-up have already been confirmed. Rebelion, Brennan Heart, Outsiders and Testarossa will all return for Defqon.1 2027. Outsiders will once again take care of the Opening Ceremony, while Brennan Heart returns for The Spotlight. Testarossa will also finally get his RED RACE spot on the mainstage after the cancellation of the previous edition.
That also means there will be changes. The scene and its music have continued to evolve in the meantime, and Defqon.1 wants to evolve with it. New artists and sounds will therefore find their place alongside elements of the line-up that had already been planned for 2026.
More room for melody and the legacy
One of the most notable changes is that Defqon.1 will make more room for the melodic side of hardstyle. During The Kick-Off, Q-dance described it as the foundation of hardstyle and even explicitly hinted at the return of reversed bass.
At the same time, the festival will look further back at its own roots. The pioneers, legends and different sounds and movements that have shaped the harder styles over the years will be given more room across all four days and throughout the entire Holy Grounds. This will also be reflected on the RED, where Q-dance says both established names and new heroes will take the stage.
“We can’t forget the legacy that has brought us here. The pioneers, the legends and all the sounds and movements that have built and shaped our scene, they deserve some space,” Q-dance says. “Ultimately preserving the past, but celebrating the future.”
Defqon.1 2027 line-up covers every corner of the harder styles
That future is set to be broader than ever. Defqon.1 promises new sounds, new genres and unexpected crossovers, while making sure the full spectrum of the harder styles remains represented. The next generation of artists will also be given more room, while Q-dance plans to work even closer with artists to develop experiences specifically created for Defqon.1.
The different stages will continue to have their own identities. Expect plenty of surprises at the BLUE and BLACK, while the PINK and SILVER dive deeper into the underground and more left-field side of the harder styles. The YELLOW brings the heavyweights, while the GOLD and MAGENTA will take Warriors straight back with a serious dose of nostalgia.
In total, Defqon.1 2027 will feature fifteen different colors, each representing its own sound and style. “We’re bringing a line-up that’s bolder, broader and more ambitious than ever. We missed an entire year, so we’re coming back with everything that we’ve got.”
Defqon.1 2027 – The Deepening
Defqon.1 2027 will take place from Thursday, June 24 through Sunday, June 27 at the Holy Grounds in Biddinghuizen. With only 25% of all tickets still available, high demand is expected during the upcoming sales moments.
Ticket sales will be divided across three moments. The DEDIQATED Sale starts on Tuesday, October 27, giving members priority access. The Travel Sale follows on Thursday, October 29, before the General Sale starts on Saturday, October 31. Availability is limited, and a DEDIQATED Membership does not guarantee a ticket.
