With ‘Start The Show’, Adaro delivers a fresh tribute to the classic, melodic hardstyle sound that originally shaped him as an artist. The track follows a few months after ‘Blast From The Past’, which unexpectedly sparked a wave of excitement among fans and fellow artists alike. “When I released ‘Blast From The Past’, I received an actual flood of messages, also from colleagues, and all of them were positive,” Adaro explains. “I also play it in my classic sets now, and it’s often the highlight of the set.”

That response motivated him to head back into the studio and further explore this classic-influenced approach, a sound that taps into hardstyle’s roots but is produced with the power and modernity of 2025.

A natural successor to ‘Blast From The Past’

According to Adaro, the idea for ‘Start The Show’ came to life during his own classics sets, where he once again felt how impactful those old melodies still are. “I regularly play classic raw sets, and when I drop an Italian melodic TNT classic in between, I often get a lump in my throat. I also see the raw generation go completely wild. That music is just fantastic, and it’s a shame it’s barely made anymore.”

That feeling became the foundation of his new track. “I immediately felt like making this type of music myself from time to time, and the ideas just came naturally.” Still, ‘Start The Show’ has its own identity. “Compared to ‘Blast From The Past’, ‘Start The Show’ is more party-oriented. I really wanted a proper mid-intro and an uplifting 80’s style rap vocal.”

Classic feeling wrapped in a modern coat

For this track, Adaro drew inspiration from typical Saifam-style mid-intro influences, blended with modern rawstyle power. “Technoboy and Tuneboy are my heroes, so you definitely hear that style come through. But because I often don’t know exactly how things were made back then, I naturally end up with my own twist.”

Finding the right balance took time. “I changed the mid-intro riff about ten times. With these kinds of melodies, it easily becomes too similar to something that already exists. That’s why I often let critical friends and colleagues listen to it for honest feedback.”

In addition to the mid-intro, Adaro added other classic touches, such as pitched-up vocal chops reminiscent of old Wildstylez tracks and an outro featuring a cheeky reverse bass. Yet the production is unmistakably modern. “Blending those influences with a modern kick hopefully gives it that original Adaro flow.”

“I firmly believe this sound also works for the new generation”

To Adaro, the emotion behind classic hardstyle is timeless. “For me, it’s simply a lot of fun to make this kind of music because I’m genuinely a fan of those melodic classics. I firmly believe this sound can work for new generations as well, they just need to be exposed to it.”

He sees the scene returning to its roots in broader ways. “You see more artists going back to basics and creating timeless music again. Classic raw, euphoric, reverse bass, jump, early rave and millennium hardcore are all having their moment. People online complaining that the music used to be better have no real reason to complain anymore.” Looking ahead, Adaro is optimistic. “It may not have the fast TikTok hype, but together we’re building toward a beautiful hardstyle future. My drive is stronger than ever.”

This classic-inspired sound is not his new direction

Although both ‘Start The Show’ and ‘Blast From The Past’ carry a classic feeling, Adaro emphasizes that this isn’t a new structural direction for his music. It’s something he consciously does only once in a while – out of love for the genre, out of hobby, and out of passion for the melodies he grew up with. “I love making tracks like this, but it’s something I do every once in a while, purely because I enjoy it,” he says. “This year I’ve also invested a lot of time in completely new music such as ‘Family’, ‘Curse of the 909’ and other projects that belong much more to the ‘now’. That remains my main focus.”

‘Start The Show’ is therefore not a change of course, but an homage – a moment where he celebrates his roots and brings listeners back to where his love for hardstyle once began. Adaro’s ‘Start The Show’ is available on all streaming platforms starting today.
