Over the past few years, BMBERJCK has built his own raw and powerful sound within the scene. Now, he’s looking to combine that energy with classic hardstyle influences, something clearly heard in his latest tracks ‘Anubis’ and ‘You Will Die’. “Yeah, one hundred percent,” he says. “I realized last year that I just wanted to make distorted kicks again, you know? I love that extra raw sound, but my heart really lies in the heavy stuff. Back when I was mostly playing underground shows, that didn’t always work. Everyone wanted those punchy kicks, so I went along with that. But now that I’m on bigger stages, I can really do my own thing – and I want to start combining both, subtly and in balance.”

Between raw and melodic

That balance between roughness and melody is exactly what BMBERJCK is exploring right now. “I’m really searching for melodies, for those melodic drops,” he explains. “Still hard, but softer at the same time. There’s more soul in it. It’s still aggressive, but maybe just a touch more commercial – and that’s okay. I think that’s dope.”

Experimenting with different styles has always been part of who he is. While Unlimited Power LIVE showcases the extreme side of his sound, his solo sets reveal a much broader musical identity.
“BMBERJCK LIVE will always stand for dark, aggressive and thematic energy,” he says. “But my solo sets are a full-on journey – euphoric, funky, danceable, mixing old and new. At Decibel I even played a D-Block & S-te-Fan track! I just love that variation.”

Still, he enjoys playing with the unexpected. “I definitely want to make a 150 BPM hardstyle track one day, just to see what happens,” he laughs. “A euphoric 2015-type track. Nobody would expect that from me, but that’s exactly why I’d love to try it. I’m really curious how people – and the streams – would react.”
