The honor of creating the official Defqon.1 anthem for 2027 goes to Rebelion. During The Kick-Off, the sudden sound of Scottish bagpipes already gave plenty away. Next year, the two Scots will be responsible for the anthem dedicated to the new theme: The Deepening.

“From the Highlands to the undergrounds. They conquered it all. Musical madmen, now they are ready to descend towards the core of our tribe. Warriors, salute the Defqon.1 anthem creators: Rebelion.” With those words, The Kick-Off revealed who will follow in the footsteps of D-Sturb, who joined forces with E-Life for ‘Sacred Oath’, the 2026 anthem.
For Rebelion, it marks one of the biggest milestones of their career. The duo has been a familiar presence at Defqon.1 for years and will now, for the first time, be responsible for the official soundtrack of the entire festival weekend.
The anthem itself will take a little longer to arrive. According to Q-dance, Rebelion is already hard at work in the studio, with the track set to be officially revealed during The Release next year. Traditionally, this is also where the full Defqon.1 line-up and further plans for the upcoming edition are unveiled.

Rebelion opens The Gathering
Creating the anthem also comes with another special moment. As the anthem creators, Rebelion will kick off the festival weekend on Thursday during The Gathering. Their own Defqon.1 anthem will therefore soundtrack one of the first major moments after the Warriors return to the Holy Grounds.
And that might not be all. During The Kick-Off, Q-dance already teased that Rebelion could make another appearance somewhere during the weekend. Another special moment on the RED certainly doesn’t seem out of the question, although Q-dance is keeping quiet for now about exactly what is in store for the anthem creators. More should become clear during The Release.
Either way, Defqon.1 2027 is shaping up to be a special edition for Rebelion. After years of performing across different stages at the festival, the Scottish duo will now take center stage with the track that will provide The Deepening with its official soundtrack.
Rebelion gets their well-deserved Defqon.1 2027 anthem
Defqon.1 2027 will take place from Thursday, June 24 through Sunday, June 27 at the Holy Grounds in Biddinghuizen. With only 25% of all tickets still available, high demand is expected during the upcoming sales moments.
Ticket sales will be divided across three moments. The DEDIQATED Sale starts on Tuesday, October 27, giving members priority access. The Travel Sale follows on Thursday, October 29, before the General Sale starts on Saturday, October 31. Availability is limited, and a DEDIQATED Membership does not guarantee a ticket.
