The rumours surrounding Project One are spinning at full speed once again. During recent shows, including their performance at Fabrik in Madrid and another appearance in Canada, Headhunterz and Wildstylez took the stage wearing new masks and updated outfits. This suggests that Project One is continuing to develop a refreshed visual identity. The topic was discussed extensively on PLAFONDDIENST: “Why would you create a costume like that? There has to be something behind it, right?”
Project One’s return generated enormous attention earlier this year. Their first show at the Brabanthallen sold out in record time and once again demonstrated the legendary status the act still holds within the scene. For many fans, Project One remains synonymous with nostalgia, Qlimax 2016, and the hope of that one long-awaited album.
New Project One mask: no new music (yet?)
Whether that album will actually arrive remains unclear for now. However, the new masks, international bookings, and renewed appearance have sparked fresh speculation throughout the hardstyle community. “Something is definitely brewing again,” the hosts of PLAFONDDIENST noted. “There are actual shows on the schedule again, and then they suddenly show up in Madrid with a new mask. There has to be a reason for that.”
For now, it remains a matter of hoping and speculating. But one thing is certain: whenever Project One appears to be doing something new, the hardstyle scene immediately pays attention. Listen to more on this topic and many other highlights from this year in the latest episode of PLAFONDDIENST. English subtitles are available on YouTube.
