While Defqon.1 in 2019 was the busiest edition ever with 78,000 people, this year, for the first time in 18 years, there won’t be a physical edition of the festival. Nevertheless, Q-dance is doing everything to make it a special weekend, with a three-day online festival completely filled with performances by over 80 artists in various locations. Furthermore every major part of Defqon.1 will return, traditionally starting with The Gathering, going from left to right in your living room during POWER HOUR: Six Years of Insanity, a special endshow during The Closing Ceremony and for the first time ever The Q-dance Quiz. Jonas Schmidt, Creative Director of Defqon.1 explains:
“The world is turned upside down. We live in a bizarre time in which our industry has been hit hard. This applies not only to our organization and the people who work there but also to the hundreds of creatives and artists with whom we organize our beautiful events every year. That’s why we’ve pulled out all the stops to make it a special weekend this year, together with our fans from all over the world”
“The ultimate online Defqon.1 experience”
To unite hardstyle fans all over the world during these crazy times, Q-dance created a special anthem moment on Saturday night. All weekend warriors will play this year’s anthem at the same time on maximum volume to make sure hardstyle is heard.
Defqon.1 at Home will take place on June 26th, 27th, and 28th of June and can be viewed live on Q-dance.com. More information about the program and line-up will be announced soon on Q-dance’s social media channels and the official website.
