“We really want to go all out, especially in the BLUE”

Revelation is firing on all cylinders. In the run-up to their live shows at Defqon.1 and WiSH, the duo has been preparing for months. “We’re still figuring out how to fit everything into half an hour,” they say on the podcast. “With a live show, we really want to go all out, especially in the BLUE. We’re playing the best of everything we’ve been working on.”

And they’re not short on music. “We’ve got so much new material that we really need to figure out how to make it all fit into the set. It’s a bit of a puzzle, but either way, it’s going to be sick.”

10 premieres across two live shows

At previous festivals, they already debuted a bunch of new material. “At REBiRTH we had three or four premieres, and at Intents another four – including a tool,” they explain. “Now we’ve got two live shows: first Defqon.1, then WiSH, and across those sets we want to do a total of 10 premieres. We still need to figure out how to spread them between these sets.”

What kind of premieres can we expect? A bit of everything. “We’ve got collabs, solos, live edits, bootlegs, tools – we’ve prepared everything. We’ve been working for months on that BLUE set, and now we finally get to show it.”

A flood of new music

All in all, Revelation is looking at no less than 17 premieres this festival season. “A premiere could be a new solo track, but a live edit counts too. So when you add it all up, you hit that number easily.”

That productivity didn’t just happen overnight. Since signing with Acid Reign, the duo has hit a creative flow. “We’re both in a really good headspace, the bookings are going well, and that has such a positive effect on your workflow. You could stop and say, ‘this is enough,’ but we’re just enjoying it so much that we keep going. We’re really happy with how things are going.”
