The cancellation of Defqon.1 not only left tens of thousands of Weekend Warriors heartbroken, but also put many international visitors in a difficult position. Many had planned to stay at the campsite until their flights home on Monday or Tuesday. For some of them, Q-dance arranged alternative accommodation.

Two visitors from India shared on Instagram how their long-awaited festival weekend came to an abrupt end. “After waiting for an entire year, we were super excited, but we never expected day one to be our last,” they said. With the festival cancelled, they – along with many other international visitors – suddenly found themselves without a place to stay for the rest of the weekend.
According to the duo, Q-dance stepped up immediately. The organization provided free food and drinks, cooling stations, shuttle bus transport, and helped stranded visitors arrange safe transportation or temporary accommodation. “Q-dance did everything they could to help everyone in the best possible way,” they said.

From a tent to a five-star hotel
For the two Warriors, the story took an unexpected turn. In addition to the announced ticket refund, they were offered a three-day stay at a five-star hotel in Amsterdam.
“Going from a camping tent to a five-star hotel, including food, drinks and all the other facilities, was something we never expected,” they said. At the same time, they stressed that no compensation could replace the memories they missed out on. “But moments like this remind you why people keep coming back.”
They ended their story with a message that became a symbol of the unity within the hardstyle scene over the past week: “Forever One Tribe.”
Following the cancellation, Q-dance stated that it did everything possible to get visitors safely off the festival grounds. The experience of these two Warriors from India shows that, for many stranded international visitors, that support went far beyond simply arranging a safe journey home.
For visitors with questions about tickets, compensation or the next steps, Q-dance has published a comprehensive FAQ page.

“The journey continues”
Although Defqon.1 2026 came to an unexpected end, Q-dance is already looking to the future. “The journey continues,” the organization says, inviting the Tribe to return to the Holy Grounds on June 24, 25, 26 and 27, 2027.
