From his early hardstyle years to the sound of today: with his new ‘Choose Your Era’ set, Kronos looks back on the different chapters that have shaped his career. The set was originally intended for Defqon.1, but when that performance didn’t happen, the Italian decided to bring the concept to life in a very fitting location.

On an elevated football pitch in his hometown in Italy, surrounded by nature and overlooking the nearby village, Kronos takes his place behind the decks on the centre spot. It provides the setting for ‘Choose Your Era’: an almost hour-long DJ set in which the Italian looks back on the music and different eras that have shaped him as an artist.
The concept was originally intended for Defqon.1, where Kronos was supposed to perform this special set. That performance ultimately didn’t happen. Rather than letting the idea go to waste, he decided to record the set in the place where his story first began. “It felt like the perfect way to tell this story,” says Kronos.
From ‘Back in the Days’ to his latest music
The tracklist serves as a timeline through the Italian’s career. Fittingly,’Choose Your Era’ kicks off with Activator’s ‘Back in the Days’, followed by well-known Kronos tracks such as ‘Pandemonio’, ‘MF Crew’, ‘Kannibals’ and ‘Black Mamba’.
His many collaborations also have their place in the set. Among them are ‘Fuck The System’ with Zatox, ‘Higher Force’ with E-Force, ‘Moonlight’ with Adaro and ‘Tonight’ with B-Front. Towards the end, the set moves into more recent material, including ‘The Joker’ with RVAGE, ‘FLASHBACK’ with Art of Fighters & Dave Revan and ‘FCK DOOM ZAAG’ with Rooler. The journey concludes with ‘Monster’, his collaboration with Hysta.
A new chapter with Kryptonite Records
While looking back on his career, Kronos is also firmly focused on the future. From now on, his upcoming music will be released through his own label, Kryptonite Records. In addition, the label will now open its doors to guest releases from other artists.
Kronos doesn’t intend to limit the label to one particular sound. Kryptonite Records will cover the full spectrum of hard dance, with the Italian revealing that the first original releases from other artists are already scheduled.
