An artist can spend countless hours in the studio, but without an audience, taking the next step is difficult. For up-and-coming hardstyle and hardcore DJs in particular, fan support can make a huge difference.

The easiest way to support an emerging artist is simply by listening to their music. Stream new releases on Spotify, SoundCloud or YouTube, save tracks and add them to your own playlists. Especially in the first few days after a release, signals like these can help a track reach a wider audience.
Every interaction on social media is valuable too (and it doesn’t cost you a thing). A like is great, but a comment, share or repost often generates even more reach. Do you have a favourite track by a smaller artist? Share it on your Instagram Story, use it in a TikTok or send it to your friends. You can also support their entries in DJ contests, which could earn them a spot on bigger stages.

At events, you may be able to make the most direct impact. Is an emerging artist playing early on the timetable or on a smaller stage? Go and see them. A packed dance floor not only leaves a lasting impression on the artist, but is also noticed by event organisers and other people in the industry.
Perhaps most importantly: talk about emerging artists before everyone knows them. Tell others which new names you like, respond when an event organiser asks for suggestions and keep following artists as they develop. After all, tomorrow’s headliners may be playing the opening set on a side stage today.
