During the Sunday of REBiRTH Festival, Pepijn – known from Frequencerz – stepped on stage for the first time as a solo artist with his brand-new act: WOLV. The project was announced late last year during Frequencerz – The Last Run and has now taken full form on stage. A new chapter, with familiar roots.

WOLV kicked off his debut with a set full of raw kicks, euphoric elements and a visual show entirely centered around the wolf. Think green lightning bolts, a wolf running through a dark forest, and visuals that instantly established the identity of the act. Green dominated the stage — both in lighting and design.
“I felt nervous again,” Pepijn said. “It’s like starting over, it even feels a bit strange. But I fully stand behind the tracks and believe this is going to work.”
The set featured nine brand-new tracks, including four solos and five collaborations with artists such as Digital Punk, E-Force and Nightcraft. “You’re standing there playing for people who have no idea what to expect, and it was great to see that there was already genuine interest.”
“I just want fun music again”
In terms of sound, WOLV strikes a balance between rawstyle and melody. The signature Frequencerz-style euphoria is still present, but the pace is faster and the kicks hit harder. “I just want fun music again. I want to pull the fader down and have people start singing along. That’s my goal – I want to bring the good vibes back.”
With WOLV, Pepijn makes it clear that even after Frequencerz, his musical direction is as focused as ever. “There’s a lot more to come,” he concludes.
