Over the last couple of weeks, the coronavirus has been spreading very fast in The Netherlands. Yesterday also raw hardstyle DJ Element announced he has been hospitalized with the virus, and that he even has to be put into a coma to fight it.

Before the outbreak of the coronavirus, Element had grand things planned for April: he would premiere loads of new music at QAPITAL and he would officially open the festival season during REBiRTH. After it was announced all events would be cancelled until the 1st of June, Element shared his next track would be a free release. This because he wanted to thank his fans for their support, and also to do something for them in these difficult times. Yesterday however, Martijn announced ‘Crazy Town – Butterfly (Element Bootleg)’ will have to wait, since he has been hospitalized with the coronavirus.

“Yo guys, a quick announcement from my side regarding the ‘Butterfly’ bootleg that was dropping this April. Unfortunately I have been hospitalized with corona virus, and I’ll have to go in a coma for 2 weeks meaning that the bootleg will be released later. I’m devastated and REALLY sick so I hope for your understanding. Till better times.”

Over the last 24 hours, fans have massively shown their support for Martijn. As Hard News, we also want to wish him the absolute best and hope he gets better soon. Down below you can read once again how we can together slow down the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible.

What can I do to prevent the spread of the coronavirus?

The most important measures you can take to prevent the spread of the coronavirus are straightforward, says RIVM. These measures apply to all viruses that can cause flu and colds. It is always important to follow up these basic hygiene measures:

  • Stay home: only leave the house when necessary
  • Keep your distance from each other: 1.5 meters
  • Wash your hands with soap regularly
  • Cough and sneeze on the inside of your elbow
  • Use paper handkerchiefs
